Lawrenceville's Brick Idea Center Grand Opening a Great Success
Williamsburg, VA. On Thursday, October 23rd, Lawrenceville Brick & Masonry Supply celebrated the grand opening of the Brick Idea Center, a new 26,000-square-foot showroom and warehouse facility in the James River Commerce Park, located in James City County. A ceremony officiated by James City County Board of Supervisors and the Economic Development Authority recognized Lawrenceville's commitment to the community and determination in overcoming construction delays.
Bruce Goodson, Roberts District Supervisor and Board of Supervisors Chair, presented a commemorative brick made by Colonial Williamsburg craftsmen to Lawrenceville president Ben Powell, drawing on the historical significance of the brickmaking industry to the region."In the proud spirit of being 'Open for Business since 1607,' we want to officially welcome Lawrenceville's newest distribution center," Goodson remarked. "This facility is a $3 million investment and a commitment to increasing jobs in our community."
President Ben Powell, who began his 35-year career selling Lawrenceville brick in the Tidewater area, commented, "We're building on our strong presence in the Hampton Roads market. With the support of more than 15 partners, we offer a complete line of masonry products to trade professionals on the Peninsula."
"This facility raises the bar in offering a higher level of service to the Hampton Roads building community," added Ken Tarrant, general manager. "The Brick Idea Center is a fully-staffed resource center designed to help builders, contractors and their clients collaborate."

Lawrenceville Brick & Masonry Supply to Open First-of-its-Kind Showroom in Williamsburg
A new 26,000-square-foot Lawrenceville Brick & Masonry Supply showroom and warehouse complex is scheduled to open this October in the James River Commerce Center on Route 60. The 8,000-square-foot showroom will offer visitors - including homeowners, architects and builders - a comfortable, "come and browse" environment for viewing a vast selection of brick and stone product samples.
Driven by the company's masonry supply division in response to the increasing demands of its customers, the new facility will become a center for the distribution of stone and masonry-related products, in addition to bricks manufactured in the company's Lawrenceville, Virginia, plants. It will be the largest of its kind on the Peninsula.
"The showroom concept is especially exciting," said Ken Tarrant, General Manager of Lawrenceville Brick and Masonry Supply. "It will give us the opportunity to fire up the customer's imagination. We want to make it easy for people to choose the appropriate products and go home feeling good about their decisions."
"In the proud spirit of being "Open for Business since 1607," we want to officially welcome Lawrenceville's newest showroom and distribution center to James City County," said Bruce Goodson, Roberts District Representative for the Board of Supervisors. "Brick making is a skill the Jamestown settlers brought to our shores 400 years ago."
